Apr02 Ohio State Operating Budget Season is Here: What You Need to Know
The Ohio State Operating Budget touches nearly every aspect of state government and sets the tax and spend policy for the next two fiscal years. In every odd-numbered year, which are also non-election years for state offices, the Ohio General Assembly is constitutionally required to pass a bill containing the next State Operating Budget before July 1 when the next fiscal year begins. The Budget bill is the largest and most important piece of legislation that will be passed in any two-year General Assembly 

Apr02 Ohio Bankers League Opposes Non-Compete Agreement Ban, Citing Risks to Industry Stability

The Ohio Bankers League (OBL), alongside other leading business organizations, has formally opposed Ohio Senate Bill 11, which seeks to ban non-compete agreements and other restrictive employment contracts. In a letter addressed to Senate President Rob McColley (R-Napoleon) and other Senate members, the OBL expressed significant concerns about the bill’s impact on Ohio’s banking sector and overall economic competitiveness.

Mar26 Small Business Administration Announces Restructuring Plan
The US Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced its restructuring plan to streamline operations and refocus on its core mission to support small businesses.  The key changes include changes to the fee structure for certain fees payable to SBA 7a lenders and borrowers for the remainder of the year 2025, starting on March 27th, in addition to a significant reduction in workforce.
